Since 2004 Ferrari and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) have been working together to make sure that the Formula 1 race cars deliver its 300 km. per hour performance on the race track. The two have had a great relationship because of how well the work together and that doesn’t seem to be changing.
This relationship may now also include software development, something which the two firms have not explored until now, Ferrari CIO Antonio Calabrese, who is currently visiting India said. “There is no other company that can offer the complete breadth of services that the Tatas can,” Mr Calabrese said. TCS is also the only firm that it has a relationship with for consulting, and the only Indian vendor for IT.
If there was ever a way to purchase a 308 most of us would do it. And who wouldn’t if they were half their normal price. Way back when it used to be a Ferrari, in fact it used to be Magnum’s vehicle. The one that everyone wanted to drive.
And now, the gang at Inside Line has acted on the impulse so many of us have felt, but suppressed in fits of rationality and/or practicality. They bought a 308, an ‘84 GTSi Quattrovalvole, to be exact. We’re completely jealous, of course. Inside Line’s going to roll in the Ferrari shown above for the next year, reporting on it, the performance, the expenses, the headaches, and the heartaches, just as they would any other long-termer.
Rumors and spy pictures have been flying around the internet about Ferrari replacing the F430. Not that anyone can make out any of the pictures that come in, but would Ferrari really replace the great F430? We think that some people might be wrong on this assumption, seeing as how the F430 hasn’t been on the market more then three years.
More likely, these shots show final-development mules for the F430 Challenge Stradale, which has not made an official appearance yet but which many spies managed to catch back in October. As for the mysterious car under the cover, it probably is an undisguised prototype of the Challenge Stradale. If anything about this car is a testbed for the next-generation car, it is possible that what people are seeing is an F430 mule with a prototype powerplant.
