There have been many Ferrari vehicles that have been damaged in accidents from poor driving this year. So naturally when we see a picture of one that is on fire we assume that someone has pushed their Ferrari too far and has destroyed another beauty. But that is not the case with this F430.
It seems that the fire in the Ferrari started in the engine bay. The picture was taken by the side of a Philippines highway, specifically the South Luzon Expressway that runs between metropolitan Manila and the Calabarzon region.
Ferrari bounced back and forth between two different classes in order to create the most competitive sports car on the market. This goal became quite difficult when the sport’s governing body decided to change the rules back in 1968.
Prototypes could only be made by a three-litre displacement limit and a new class of limited production GT cars with a maximum displacement of five litres was created. To be homologated for the GT-class at least 50 examples needed to be constructed, but from 1969 that number was reduced to 25.
The Gran Turismo series is a video game that many people have become addicted to and love to play. The only thing that they do not like about it is that they have almost every type of vehicle, but the Ferrari. Something that they have been pushing for a long time now.
Their wish is about to be granted with the new Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. It hits store shelves later this year. GT Channel is reporting that the game will include Ferraris for the first time in its history. This is based on a recent trailer of GT 5 Prologue that shows a Ferrari F430 on track. Many would imagine if the F430 is included, other of Modena’s finest are, as well.
