Rumors have been flying around the internet that Michael Schumacher is making comeback to the Ferrari F1 team after he agreed to test at Jerez next month. Schumacher quit Formula One during the end of the season for 2006 and was able to get behind the wheel last week during their two day tests in Barcelona.
He showed everyone in Barcelona that he still has what it takes and proved his worth as a seven time World Champion. While the rumors that he will also be testing at Jerez next week are true – Schumacher has stated that while he absolutely loves to drive the F1 cars he will not be coming back to the team.
Ross Brawn is coming out of retirement to get back to the job he loves. We would expect him to return to Ferrari – but instead he has turned his sights onto Honda and making them his new team. Jenson Button is enthusiastic to be bringing Brawn on board and is confident that will all of Brawn’s experience that he gathered from the Ferrari team he can bring some much needed improvements to the struggling team.
“I am very happy, and I think this is what the team needs. The guy has so much experience in F1,” Button said.
A few months ago we reported that Abu Dhabi – the Persian Gulf Emirate – was thinking strongly about building a Ferrari theme park. Well now he is done thinking and has recently broken ground and begun the long process of building it up.
This will be the first Ferrari theme park in the world and is being created to build up a place of relaxation, sport, and culture for out of country guests visiting the booming city of Dubai. A ceremony was held for the laying of the project’s first foundation stone on Yas Island off the coast of the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
