A few months ago we reported that Abu Dhabi – the Persian Gulf Emirate – was thinking strongly about building a Ferrari theme park. Well now he is done thinking and has recently broken ground and begun the long process of building it up.
This will be the first Ferrari theme park in the world and is being created to build up a place of relaxation, sport, and culture for out of country guests visiting the booming city of Dubai. A ceremony was held for the laying of the project’s first foundation stone on Yas Island off the coast of the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The park will be 250,000 square meters and will be completed by 2009. Some of the many features that we can expect to see is a motor circuit – which will host the Emirate’s first F1 Grand Prix in that very same year, roller coasters, theatres, and of course displays of the different Ferrari vehicles.
