When rumors hit the Internet they fly like wildfire and spread to every corner to make sure that everyone knows. Naturally we try to keep up with all of the important rumors and discard the ones we know to be false and unbelievable. We were however caught off guard when a rumor reached us saying that there was possibly to be a convertible version of the 430 Scuderia.
The new Ferrari roadster is being called the 430 Scuderia Spider and will be based on the lightweight 430 Scuderia but without any roof attached to it. We have not been able to discover exactly what type of roof will be used because there are far too many rumors about it to nail a specific one down. It could be a manual cloth (which will help keep the weight of the car down), a retractable hard-top (currently used on the new Ferrari California), or an automatic fabric top (used on the F430 Spider).
Of course there is the possibility that there will be no roof at all - but somehow we can’t imagine trying to drive it in the rain if that were true. Reports suggest that the Spider will also get the California’s new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox - which will be produced in a limited series of 300 and be unveiled on November 5 at the Ferrari Challenge weekend in Mugello.
A few rendering from Jon Sibal have been given to us to help give us an idea on what we can expect from the new 430 Scuderia Spider.
