Ferrari California Sold Out Through 2010

Some Ferrari enthusiasts have been skeptical when it comes to the Ferrari California – but the fact that it is a Ferrari and has the Ferrari Badge is enough for most people. The automaker confirmed that the new model has completely sold out through 2010.

Ferrari has plans to produce the California in batches of 2,000 each year. The 179,000 supercar has been more of a success then I think even Ferrari expected. Ferrari president, Luca di Montezemolo was recently quoted saying, “In 2008 there was the success of the Scuderia. 2009 will be characterized by the California. It has been an incredible success. We have already sold all of the 2008 and 2009 production. You have to now wait until 2011 for one.”

The California does not have the same elegant and sporty look that is common for many Ferrari models. But what it lacks in style it makes up for in performance and power. The new model has been equipped with a brand new direct-injection, 4.3 liter V8 engine that pushes out 460 horsepower. With an engine like this you can’t help – but push it its limits!
