Ferrari Finishes Up At Mugello and Fiorano

Ferrari racing by Michael Schumacher drivingFerrari concluded their two-day test at Mugello in Italy on Thursday with Michael Schumacher again on track, this time joined by Luca Badoer, who took over from Marc Gene.

With most teams in action at Silverstone and two at Jerez, the Scuderia were the only team at the Autodromo del Mugello, where work centred on the development of new mechanical components and Bridgestone tyre testing, for the three final races of the 2006 season.

Schumacher completed a total of 98 laps (14 on the short version, which is 2.760 km in length, as opposed to 5.245 km for the full circuit) setting a best time of 1 minute 20.366 seconds – the best time of the week. Badoer covered slightly more – 148 laps, 4 on the short version of the track, his best a 1m 22.355s.

At the same time at Fiorano meanwhile, Ferrari number two driver, Felipe Massa carried out the shakedown of the 248 F1 cars that will be used in the back-to-back races in the Far East. Massa did a total of 20 laps, half on the short version of the track, with the quickest in a time of 59.240 seconds.
