Reports were swirling around the internet that F1 champion Michael Schumacher crashed a new Ferrari prototype while testing it on the Nurburgring track. Ferrari released statements not long after the story was out telling people that he was not the one driving when it happened.
Raffaele de Simone – the factory’s road car test driver – was the one driving when the prototype crashed into the guardrail traveling at 250 km/h. The car has been described as a right-off though it does not seem to have been damaged too much.
Many people believed that Schumacher was the culprit because pictures were snapped of him and his son – Mick – test driving the prototype. According to reports neither one of them were wearing helmets during the drive.
