In August there was a Ferrari prototype that was seen at Fiorano - which no one knew anything about. The majority of people believed that it was a one-off coach built supercar that was designed by the stylist and former Pininfarina Fiorvanti for a wealthy customer. Ferrari confirmed this suspicion only a few weeks later.
The Ferrari was dubbed the SP1 or Sport Prototype 1 and was built especially for the Japanese business executive and Ferrari collector Junichiro Hiramatsu. It now forms the first product of Maranello’s brand new Portfolio program.
This initiative gives more wealthy customers the chance to work with other Italian design houses and full factory support in order to create their own one of a kind supercars. Their unique cars can be based on the F430, 612, and Enzo. While you can customize them they still have to retain specific structural requirements and meet the specifications of Ferrari.
