Ferrari LogoDon’t you just hate it when your things get lost at the airport or even worse destroyed? Well it’s getting even harder to trust them especially when they customs. The customs department destroyed a Bt 40 billion Ferrari. Apparently they detroyed it so as to avoid it getting to criminals who would take it apart and sell it.

Customs director-general Chawalit Satemethakul presided over destruction of the unclaimed Ferrari 456 GT, which was seized from a Samut Prakan garage on June 28. The car was found to lack key parts such as the engine’s interface box, an anti-lock braking system (ABS) and its pump, a transmission, wiring systems, and an exhaust pipe, Chawalit said.

1999 Ferrari 456GT

Ferrari 456GTAt the 2002 Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari introduced a special two-tone version of the 456M GT as a further example of the personalisation opportunities offered by the Carrozzeria Scaglietti personalisation programme, presently adopted by 90% of Ferrari’s clientele.

In the case of the 456M GT displayed on the Ferrari stand, and expressly designed for Michael Schumacher, the dominant characteristic is the two-tone paint finish. This elegant ‘tone on tone’ personalised colour mix was obtained through a specific study personally commissioned by Schumacher on the chromatic tones of grey, then also applied to other exterior details as the wheel rims and the radiator grille.
