When it comes to rumors we are all ears – especially when it comes to possible information on a new model. The new rumors are giving us insight into a convertible model of the 599 GTB Fiorano – which Ferrari is planning on releasing within a couple of years.

Speculation surrounding the 599 Spider is backed up by an interview with Ferrari’s General Director, Amadeo Felisa, which appeared recently in the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport. When asked about a convertible 599, Felisa confirmed that Ferrari is developing such a model for possible production in a limited series like its predecessor, the 575-based SuperAmerica.

Hamann have finally finished their first Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano just in time for the opening of the Essen Motor Show. They are the first tuner to offer a bodykit and range of accessories for the 599.

While no information has yet been released, the new car features a ground effects kit that includes a cabron fibre front splitter, side sills, and an adjustable rear diffuser. Other new details include a subtle rear wing and oversize wheels wrapped in Hancook tires.While we don’t know what lurks under the hood, most likely Hamann have adapted their own exhaust which should be good for 15 bhp.

The GTB as in Gran Turismo Berlinetta was named after the most famous Ferrari berlinettas ever built; and 599 to reflect the displacement of its V12 engine divided by 10. The stunning new all-aluminium two-seater that Ferrari is unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show is summed up rather succinctly by its own name and delivers everything that this promises. The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, in fact, sets a new benchmark of excellence in the sports car world.
