Spyker Considering Ferrari Engines For 2007

Ferrari F1 EngineHaving announced the purchase of the Midland F1 team at the Italian Grand Prix, Spyker, the new owners, are now weighing up their engine options for 2007 and have placed Ferrari at the top of their list.

Spyker MF1, as the team is now known as, have several options available to them in 2007 with regards to who will power their cars, however, according to team boss Colin Kolles, Ferrari are at the top of their list as the team has several connections to the Italian outfit.

“There are still two or three options,” Kolles said.

He added: “There is a Ferrari connection because people who are shareholders in Ferrari are also shareholders in Spyker. We are always in contact with Ferrari.”

Ferrari already are already contracted to supply one other team, Red Bull Racing, with custumer engines for next season.
